Fairport Themed Singaround

n December 1969 Fairport Convention released their fourth album Liege and Lief and British Folk Music was changed forever (and seriously popularised – the album went top 20 and stayed on the charts for 15 weeks). It was voted the ‘most important folk album of all time’ by BBC Radio 2 listeners in 2002, and at the 2006 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Liege and Lief won the award for Most influential Folk Album of all time.

Chesham Folk Club celebrate this anniversary with one of their special themed singers nights. Please come armed with a song or tune from Fairport or the seriously extended Fairport Family. With writers including Trad arranged Fairport, Richard Thompson, Dave Swarbrick and Sandy Denny to choose from, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding material.

Performing isn’t compulsory, you can just come along and enjoy the evening!
