The Dylan Project, Big Joe Bone

We are honoured to have the Dylan Project opening their 2016 tour with in Chelmsford at the Chelmsford City Football Club on Friday 11th November with support from Big Joe Bone.

When Sara Danius, secretary of the Swedish Academy, announced Bob Dylan as the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature last month she singled out for special mention his legendary double album "Blonde on Blonde," which was released exactly fifty years ago. This year's Dylan Project show will feature their version of the entire classic "Blonde on Blonde" played in album order, and also marks the release of their own double album, the live "Caught in the Convent" CD, recorded last year.

For the last eighteen years The Dylan Project have been touring the world with their affectionate salute to Bob's work. By no means a tribute band - rather than copy his records, they play their own interpretations, drawing from a working repertoire of more than a hundred of Dylan's best songs.

Led by veteran Birmingham rocker Steve Gibbons, the band are all virtuoso musicians in their own right: the rhythm section of Dave Pegg and Gerry Conway are from Fairport Convention & Jethro Tull, guitarist PJ Wright from folk-rock luminaries Fotheringay and keyboard wizard Phil Bond.

Expect an evening of supreme musicianship and great songs.
