Flora

On tour from Oriel Davies in Newtown, flora is a spectacular contemporary art exhibition bringing together work by national and international artists that focuses on the importance of flowers within contemporary art.

Artists: Emma Bennett, Michael Boffey, Ori Gersht, Owen Griffiths, Jacques Nimki, Yoshihiro Suda, Clare Twomey.

Flowers are deeply embedded within our lives and have been an inspiration to artists over centuries of art historical representation. flora celebrates flowers as a powerful contemporary motif, making visible cultural, historical, geographic, social and scientific ideas. The exhibition presents new and existing work by key national and international artists which offer a refreshed perspective on the subject of the flower in art.

There is a series of events at Oriel Myrddin Gallery throughout the exhibition to complement the themes of the exhibition.
