Aurora Orchestra

at St David's Hall, Cardiff
£5.00 - £51.50

A programme of

Mendelssohn Violin Concerto 26'
Beethoven Symphony No 3 (Eroica) 50'

With its unprecedented scale, shattering dissonances and expressive grandeur, the ‘Eroica’ transformed symphonic form in one astounding blow. Overflowing with musical invention, Beethoven re-wrote the symphonic rulebook for all time. The Aurora Orchestra is another ground-breaking phenomenon, celebrated for its memorised performances of complete symphonies - not an experience to miss. Nicola Benedetti opens the programme with Mendelssohn’s evergreen Violin Concerto, a work of extraordinary originality and packed with wonderful tunes. In addition, there will be an interactive introduction from Broadcaster Tom Service and conductor Nicholas Collon.
