Alfie Boe + Sol3 Mio
Alfie Boe, ‘The Nation’s Favourite Tenor’ has confirmed details of his second UK arena tour for November and December 2014, with special guests Sol3 Mio. This new tour follows the news of Alfie’s new album, which is due for release on October 20, 2014.
Celebrating UK album sales of well over one million and four Top Ten albums, Alfie Boe will perform favourite classic tracks with his orchestra from all his albums - including Bridge Over Troubled Water, Granada, God Give me Strength, Maria and Nessun Dorma, as well as performed by Alfie in ITV’s hit period drama Mr Selfridge, where he appeared as tenor Richard Chapman, he will sing Danny Boy and of course perform the iconic song Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, by which Boe has become a worldwide star.
This event takes place at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Alfred Giovanni Roncalli Boe was born in Blackpool to opera loving parents, with his Mother from Co. Mayo and his father from Norway. In this short time he has moved from being a Car Mechanic to an award winning Broadway star. His enchanting voice has captured the hearts of audiences and critics on both sides of the Atlantic.
Alfie has moved further away from his traditional operatic repertoire on recent recordings and has never sounded so coolly contemporary, applying his extraordinary voice to a soulful set of country and blues, folk and gospel, standards and originals such as, ‘Georgia On My Mind’, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and ‘Glory, Glory Hallelujah’. His repertoire draws on the full range of his musical interests, from pop to rock to classical to musical theatre.

Made up of two tenor brothers, Pene and Amitai Pati from Auckland, New Zealand and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay, SOL3 MIO is the combination of three powerful and moving operatic voices, with more than a dash of uncontainable Samoan humour.
By their own definition they are first and foremost ‘classical singers bridging the gap with contemporary’, but the unique way in which they do it has already shown the potential to widen their appeal. Their onstage brotherly bonhomie, off the cuff banter and impeccable comedic timing is no act, simply an extension of their natural selves, and the culmination of a lifetime’s worth of singing, performing and entertaining.
With natural musicality, that indefinable phenomenon of kindred voices in unison, an ever present twinkle in their eye, and crucially years of hard study and coaching – Sol3 Mio quite simply have the potential to bring a whole new audience to the music they have devoted their lives to.
