Tafwyl Fair 2016

Menter Caerdydd was established in June 1998 with the aim of promoting and expanding the use of Welsh in Cardiff by creating opportunities for the city residents to use the language outside working hours and outside school. Tafwyl is the annual festival established by Menter Caerdydd in 2006 to celebrate the use of Welsh in Cardiff.

Tafwy’s main event is Tafwyl Fair, which has developed since 2006 as a fun-filled day which is a combination of artistic, musical, cultural, and sport events all through the Welsh language. In 2011, with 2,700 attendees, Tafwyl Fair became too large for its location in the Mochyn Du Tavern in Sofia Gardens, therefore a more suitable location was needed for the Festival in 2012.

For 2016 an eclectic mix of bands and artists have been revealed, that’s sure to appeal to a wide audience. The line up was announced by Tafwyl’s new music ambassador, American rock star and former Flaming Lips drummer, Kliph Scurlock.
