The Vibes/Alto Quintet

Drawing heavily on the cool West Coast sound of the 50's and 60’s this new co-led quintet, featuring a front line of Alto Saxophone and the rarely heard Vibraphone, takes it inspiration from the great figures of that era. The quintet mixes the sounds of Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz. Paul Desmond and the Modern Jazz Quartet to bring you a clean, straight ahead mainstream sound. From tender ballads to blistering bop, the group covers a wide range of repertoire ranging from the 20's right up to the present day taking in a variety of styles and moods along the way.

The Quintet is co led by Carlo Fraccalvieiri on alto sax and Ashley John Long on vibraphone. They are supported by Dave Jones piano, Donald Sweeney bass and Ian Poole on drums.
