Burum return to Cafe Jazz on the penultimate night of their week-long tour of the South of England and Wales. The band will be performing a whole new set of arrangements of Welsh folk tunes, in their own unique style, blending beautiful, melancholic melodies with fiery solos and some deep grooves.
Burum have been described as a 'Welsh jazz supergroup' by jazzman.com. In reviewing their gig at Brecon Jazz 2014 Access All Ares Music said: 'Burum are flexible in improvising and interpreting existing material, making it new, magical and extraordinary. Their name means 'yeast' and, indeed, what they keep is a fresh and heady fermenting brew of music...The band is timeless, creative and a little bit different."
Featuring Tomos Williams (trumpet), Daniel Williams (tenor sax), Ceri Rhys Matthews (wooden flute), Dave Jones (piano), Aidan Thorne (bass), and Mark O Connor (drums).
