Erkan Sahin, Acapela House Band

Acapela is pleased to welcome Erkan Sahin for a wonderful evening of Turkish music.

Erkan is a young, self-taught Turkish musician and singer, based in Ankara, who mixes both traditional and contemporary Turkish music and is becoming well-known on stages in his home city. His appearance at Acapela is his first performance in the UK and indeed outside of Turkey. The concert is part of the well-established Acapela tradition of encouraging the best emerging musical talent.

Turkish music brings together influences from Ottoman, Persian, Greek and Balkan traditions. It invokes the waves and cliffs of the Mediterranean, the mountains and plains of central Anatolia, the cool winds and forests of the Black Sea and the fusion of Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus. Be enchanted by traditional Turkish love songs and dance your heart out (in the Turkish way) to contemporary Turkish rock music.

Erkan will be accompanied by the local Acapela in-house band.
