Andy trained as a journalist, working as a West Coast rock correspondent in the 1970s, rubbing shoulders with the best bands of the era. From there he moved on to producing music videos for Island Records, managing Channel 4’s Rockers Roadshow and upon hitting 30, upping sticks and moving to rural France. It was there he began selling antique glass, and on returning to his hometown of Rye, took a more academic approach and wrote three major books – leading to a career on one of BBC’s most popular programmes.
