Seth Bennett returns to Listen! with an exciting new project What Love, celebrating the work of Charles Mingus through the voices of eight contemporary improvisers.

A hand picked octet of some of the most innovative improvisers and composers on the British scene will each adapt and arrange one of Mingus' works to fit their current practice, so, in effect, staying true to Mingus' assertion that an improviser must stay true to their own voice at all times.

A project born of a deep love of Mingus' work, both as a composer and philosopher of music, What Love will be both a celebration and re-evaluation of one of the greatest composers of the Twentieth Century.
