The story of Jean Valjean, released on parole after nineteen years’ imprisonment, and of Inspector Javert, the policeman who pursues him relentlessly over many years, when that parole is broken. Two men, seemingly worlds apart, but both with a common desire – to live their lives with honour, but this comes at a terrible cost to one of them.
