Brigham Young Ballroom Dance Company

The BYU Ballroom Dance Company will be touring England following their appearance at the British National Championships in Blackpool in May where they will defend their titles as British National Champions in both Modern Formation and Latin Formation.

Swing ‘n’ Sway is an impressive show that presents ballroom dance in a theatrical environment with a contemporary point of view. They will present a 90 minute show of their very best routines.

The audience will be engaged as couples dance a romantic waltz and also feel the energy as the entire company moves to the infectious rhythms of Latin America. The fast paced rhythms are accompanied with amazing, colourful costumes and dramatic choreography.

The Dance Company have toured in the past throughout the world. In 2014, they took their show to China including shows in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. After their last victory in Blackpool in 2013 they entertained audiences in England, Germany and Switzerland. In 2011, they were well received in Thailand and Vietnam.

Swing ‘n’ Sway will be director Curt Holman’s first BYU production. Holman received his Master’s degree in dance from Brigham Young University, and then spent six years as a professional dancer with his wife Sharon, winning awards and being consistently ranked in the top four couples in the USA.
He has received his professional certifications from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and is now nationally recognised as an expert choreographer in the ballroom dance discipline.
