One of the UK’s best-loved stars Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey, Stella) makes a rare stage appearance in the intriguing new comedy The Nightingales.

When the local acapella group gathers in the village hall they have every reason to look forward to their weekly rehearsal. There’s Steven, 60, the Cambridge-educated choirmaster; Diane, his younger wife; Ben, who was once a professional tennis player married to Connie, who was once a model; and Bruno, a young history teacher, who cares for his mother.

They appear to be the friendliest bunch you could imagine. Whatever differences or problems they may have at home, they are happily bound together by their love of music. Two hours of laughter and harmonies fly by, until one day newcomer, Maggie, knocks on the door and everything changes…
