Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
Now based in New York, award winning singer Christine Tobin makes a rare return visit to the UK with her latest project. PELT is a unique, genre-busting concert for lovers of song, poetry and daring musicianship, featuring Christine Tobin’s settings of poems and lyrics by contemporary Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Paul Muldoon. A stellar band will join her for these performances.
Although a continuation of Christine’s fascination with fine words and music, PELT marks a new direction and a new musical soundscape. BBC Music Magazine described it as “…feisty original music written by Tobin for a programme that covers the Americana waterfront. The album is a masterclass in songcraft.”
Christine Tobin (voice and composer), Richard Jones (violin), Kate Shortt (cello and backing vocals), Gareth Lockrane (flutes), Phil Robson (guitar), Steve Hamilton (piano, keyboard & laptop), Dave Whitford (double basses), Simon Lea (drums).
