The Trials Of Galileo
In 1633, the astronomer, physicist and philosopher Galileo is ordered to stand trial on charges of heresy brought by the Roman Inquisition. He mistakenly believed that if he supplied the church with proof of his discoveries he would not only escape persecution but enlighten the world. But while he understood the science better than anyone, he never grasped the politics of the situation until it was too late.
Written by Emmy-award winner Nic Young and starring Tim Hardy, The Trials of Galileo is a witty and sometimes chilling one-man play, exploring the conflict between politics and science.
