Borderland is a tender, urgent, love story exploring the consequences of a single transgressive act in racially-segregated Oldham.

Straddling the fault lines of religion, class and sexuality, Borderland follows two young women from their first meeting (bloodied and bruised in a school detention room) to their final separation (on the rooftop of derelict cotton mill).

Borderland is a provocative and humane look at modern social segregation. It's a play which challenges liberal and traditional values alike. Borderland is the product of extensive research and interviews conducted in Oldham, Bradford and Burnley.
