About the show
Night River are very proud to present Willy Mason, one of the most gifted American songwriters of a generation. He has been writing recording and touring for 25 years, ever since his home demo of breakout single Oxygen became an unexpected chart and radio hit.
Since then he has tread a meandering path, frequently shunning the limelight in favour of unexpected company. But when he does appear it is always worth the wait. A songwriter with a gorgeous voice somewhere between the greats of Johnny Cash and Bill Callahan, drawing on a deep well of melody and story passed on from two songwriter parents, Willy’s songs are full of heart and philosophy and hope for humanity.
Opening the night is DG Solaris, aka Danny Green, the founder of Night River and seasoned songwriter on the cusp of releasing his third solo record, A Childish Idea.
Featuring - Willy Mason

New York singer-songwriter Willy Mason was just 19 when his first album was released back in 2004, a record that propelled him to critical acclaim and spawning the UK top 30 single 'Oxygen'.
His music showed a young man with a tremendous, broad-oaked voice, a great songwriting talent, and a peculiar wisdom way beyond his years. Mason continues to capture the spirit of a time, a place and a generation with his captivating brand of folky blues-country.
DG Solaris
DG Solaris has been a familiar face on the London folk scene for years now. Initially performing as Laish, their music changed direction with the sun-glint pop folk of the first DG Solaris album, 'Spirit Glow'. Throughout the pandemic, they undertook another project in Songs from the Blue Room - a series of video sessions that have seen collaborations with some of the pivotal figures of folk in London.
