A contemporary adaptation of Ibsen’s classic, where the audience decides the outcome.

Ibsen’s original story is transported to Cornwall to the heart of a close-knit community. Dr Stockmann and her brother, the Mayor, have founded a Co-Operative Health Spa and their town’s fortunes are transformed. So when she discovers that the health of the planet is threatened by one of their business deals, she assumes everyone will want to put things right.

It’s a no brainer right? Wrong.

Sister and brother discover that they are bound by blood and divided by philosophy. Family loyalty, fairness and trust can no longer be taken for granted.

An Enemy of the People places a global dilemma smack bang in the middle of a modern family. At the public meeting, where the cast will be joined by our chorus of local people, whose voices will be heard? The audience will be asked to vote and then the cast will perform the chosen ending. What will you decide?
