This month Bristol Explorers is joined by Kate Phelp and her journey through the South Pole. Having deployed twice to Iraq, Kate was injured whilst serving on operations in Afghanistan in November 2008, when the armoured vehicle she was commanding was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

As part of the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Challenge three teams of wounded servicemen and women embarked upon one of the most high profile expeditions of modern times, racing across 3° to the Geographic South Pole. Wounded from the UK, the US and the Commonwealth (Australia and Canada) embarked on this gruelling challenge supported - in person - by Prince Harry.
