Pioneering period instrument ensemble Spiritato presents music inspired by the imagery of war and peace, in an age of heroism and chivalry.

Featuring works by Biber and Schmelzer, the ensemble blends the martial sound of trumpets and drums with inventive and reflective pieces for strings – a showcase of all the pomp and majesty of an Imperial Court at the height of its powers.

From Fux’s vibrant depiction of the siege of Vienna, to the taverns and gun-shots of Biber’s famous Battalia. After the concert, audience members are welcome to stay to meet the players and get up-close with the instruments.
