Nicholas McCarthy’s story is an inspiring one. Born without a right hand and told he would never make it as a concert pianist, the young artist has had to fight his way to the top. His championing of Left Hand piano repertoire, exemplified on his recently acclaimed album, not to mention presenting stints on television at the BBC Proms, have made him a familiar and popular personality. This concert features repertoire standards, some arranged by Nicholas himself, and a newly commissioned ‘Nocturne’ by Nigel Hess.
