Never miss another 'Johnny Coppin' show
Saltcellar Folk Club: Johnny Coppin
"Johnny Coppin is a singer/songwriter, composer and poetry anthologist. His clear voice together with his ability to write fine songs make his music essentially English in character while having universal appeal.
Floor singers and musicians are welcome. Please inform us on arrival or prior to the evening."
Info provided by the Event Organiser
Celebrated Cotswolds singer-songwriter Johnny Coppin made his name in the '70s with the cult folk-rock group Decameron but has worked as a solo performer on the European folk scene for many years, playing his own material and new arrangements of traditional folk songs. An accomplished performer, he is renowned for his clear vocals, guitar and keyboard playing.
He had a hit collaboration with well-loved writer Laurie Lee on the album Edge Of Day, setting Lee's poems to music, and has a weekly show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
'Strong, clear vocals, and songs of substance' (The Daily Telegraph)
'One of the finest voices in its field' (Q Magazine).
