Celebrating 25 Years of Hip Hop: De La Soul
De La Soul - celebrating 25 years of 3 Feet High And Rising!
25 years after the release of their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, hip hop trio De La Soul are set to visit the UK once again, visiting cities across the country in May 2014 to rock you with their songs full of inscrutable samplings, whimsically irreverent lyrics, social commentary, light rhythm and laid back rhymes.
Famous for their early hits 'Me, Myself and I' and 'The Magic Number', De La Soul – aka Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and Pasemaster Mase – have continued making music up to the present day, including two collaborations with Gorillaz. Their latest single, 'Get Away' featuring The Spirit Of Wu Tang, was released in May 2013.
This event takes place at O2 Academy Bristol, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
One of the most artistic and creative hip-hop acts ever, this trio from Long Island have had an unquestionable influence since their debut in 1987. As well as hits from their legendary album '3 Feet High and Rising' including 'The Magic Number', 'Say No Go' and 'Me Myself and I', their recent releases have included a collaboration with Gorillaz, 'Feel Good Inc', which reached no 2 in the UK singles charts.
