Folk: Sweet Liberties
Folk music’s most legendary and exciting performers come together to take a musical journey exploring the pursuit of democracy and the events that have made a difference to our liberties.
Martyn Joseph, Nancy Kerr, Sam Carter and Maz O’Connor have been given access to material from parliamentary archives and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library and will compose new music from their research. The quartet will then perform this new work together with musicians Patsy Reid and Nick Cooke.
The project has been commissioned by the English Folk Dance and Song Society and Folk in the Oak in conjunction with the year-long 2015 Anniversaries: Parliament in the Making programme of activities.
This is a seated show.
