The Harbourside Market

The Harbourside Market Bristol is no ordinary market.

Bristol has an historic harbour full of tradition but it had unfortunately become associated more with drinking culture than a desirable location for those that love Bristol to visit and be proud of.

In 2010, No.1 Harbourside restaurant opened its doors. Its aim was to promote a more sustainable, responsible and accessible experience. The restaurant actively promoted other businesses within the Harbourside that shared a similar progressive philosophy. The aim was to reclaim the city centre and make it relevant for everybody.

As part of this vision, No.1 Harbourside created The Harbourside Market. Its vision was to be ‘no ordinary market’ but an independent alternative to the high street, supporting local creativity and providing a safe space for people to shop, eat and relax within a setting rich with tradition.

Some say we’re a market on a mission. Since 2010, every weekend the market has is home to around 40 talented local stalls and is a popular place for visitors and locals alike. Our plans for 2015 are to double in size, quadruple the customer experience and give half our profits to exciting new city centre regeneration initiatives.

Located outside the Green Capital offices, we are also a hub for sustainable travel with visitors being able to enjoy a tour with Cycle the City, a ferry ride, a Bristol walking tour, or – if you’re feeling brave enough – some stand up paddle boarding!

We want to lavish this popular Bristol market with top-notch creativity, delicious authentic food, live music, art installations, children’s entertainment, games, competitions and even the occasional performing clown group!
