Singer-songwriter and guitarist, Robyn Hitchcock, started his career in Cambridge with an acoustic guitar and his loopy vocal style. He ended up in the melodic punk band The Soft Boys – a rather different sound to where he started.

Hitchcock later went solo, releasing his debut album ‘Black Snake Diamond Role’. The mid-2000s saw him collaborating with various artists including Peter Buck of R.E.M. – they were known as Venus 3. In 2007 Hitchcock was the subject of a documentary entitled ‘Sex, Food, Death… and Insects’, directed by John Edginton. He’s also worked with the likes of Jarvis Cocker and KT Tunstall.
