Bristol Summer Series: The Pogues + The Rails
A brand new music festival coming to the Harbourside this June, it's going to be quite a month for music in the city.
The Amphitheatre will host the Bristol Summer Series festival with Celtic punks The Pogues and stars of ITV's Big Reunion taking to the stage over two nights.
By demonstrating that the spirit of punk could live in traditional Irish folk music, the Pogues were one of the most radical bands of the mid-80s. Famed for their wild and exciting live acts, lead singer Shane MacGowan's relentless drug and alcohol abuse meant the cult Irish folk punksters were forced to disband in the mid 90s. Now reformed with charismatic rogue MacGowan back in tow, the band are back on the road well over 20 years since their inception.
