Brighton Fringe: Philosophy Garden: Ben Haggarty, Peter Chand, Andrew Chitty, Mary Hampton, Kefi Chadwick, Rachel Ries, Sharon Lewis, Richard Robinson, Emily Baker, Professor Steve Jones
A three day festival for people who love discussing, debating, listening and thinking.
This inspirational mini-festival celebrates philosophy, storytelling, science, music and the arts. Come and explore ideas in a beautiful and intimate setting.

Ben is a world-class performance storyteller, whose work delights and subverts audiences across the English-speaking world. He is internationally respected for his playful, physical and challenging performances of stories inspired by international fairytales, folk tales, myth and epic, in venues that have ranged from caves to the Carnegie Hall. Ben is founder and Artistic Director of the legendary Crick Crack Club, and Honorary Professor of Storytelling at the Arts University of Berlin (UDK).

British Punjabi storyteller Peter Chand is a brilliant teller who has shared his Indian stories across the length and breadth of Britain and also in Greece, Norway, India, Canada, Denmark, and The Netherlands.

Bewildering Brighton based singer playing traditional yet modern folk with a clear wispy voice.
Mary Hampton tour dates
Rachel Ries crafts songs of love and loss and the steady tussle between city and country – each with its pull; each with its perfection.
Hailing from South Dakota but residing in Brooklyn, she writes, makes homemade jam to hock at shows and gathers up the band to tour from small town to city and back.

Described as the Queen of Melody with gentle harmonious singing and piano and guitar.
Much revered for her tender and heartfelt songs, enchanting songstress Sharon Lewis weaves a rare and compelling spell. Formerly one half of highly regarded duo Pooka, she has collaborated with eclectic artists such as Orbital, 1 Giant Leap, The Leisure Society and Anais Mitchell.

Singer-songwriter Emily Baker is a passionate and honest storyteller with flashes of eccentric chat between songs, taking a slice of real life and serving it up with a melody.
Emily released her debut album House Of Cards to critical applause in 2011, touring with Chris Difford, Beth Rowley, Amy Wadge, Jon Allen and Gabriella Cilmi. Schoolmate Pete Doherty cited her as the person who first influenced him to pick up a guitar and she supported him at Bournemouth Opera House and the Hackney Empire.
