Brighton’s Jam Tarts are an indie choral collective who perform unique and shimmering arrangements of indie, post-punk, electro, Britpop and artrock classics, from Joy Division and Goldfrapp to Amanda Palmer and Sufjan Stevens. Nouvelle Vague get creative with bossa nova, the Ukulele Orchestra do it with ukes - but Jam Tarts slay ‘em all with four (or five or even eight) part harmonies, 60 pairs of mighty lungs and six degrees of celebration.
Jam Tarts offer the gruesome and grisly with this alternative Halloween of misery and mayhem. Expect to hear Nick Cave, Tom Waits, The Adverts, The Cure, PJ Harvey and The Sisters of Mercy given the spine-tingling Tart treatment.
