Rachel Ries crafts songs of love and loss and the steady tussle between city and country – each with its pull; each with its perfection.
Hailing from South Dakota but residing in Brooklyn, she writes, makes homemade jam to hock at shows and gathers up the band to tour from small town to city and back.

Arthur and The Irrational deliver Nu Folk with a bit of a twist, think Tom Waits meets Kate Bush. Enchanting melodies and beautiful harmonies.
Arthur and The Irrational is a Folk/Indie band based around singer songwriter Birte Paulsen (guitar and vocals), consisting of Kate Holder (cello and vocals), Rosy Armitage (accordion) as well as various other musicians who are all part of the vibrant Brighton music scene.
Inspired in part by Folk, Chanson and Jazz, their music is hauntingly beautiful - the melodies are bitter sweet, the vocals delicate and fragile but equally powerful and moving.
With intensely personal lyrics that evoke images of smoky bars and lonely hearts, their music has the eccentric charm of Tom Waits combined with the subtle beauty and intensity of female vocalists such as Laura Marling or Beth Gibbons (Portishead).

A Contemporary Folk Duo based in Gloucestershire, The Black Feathers is the result of a combination of English folk influences, some Irish heritage, and large splash of Americana inspiration, all held together with close Bluegrass harmonies.
Having performed their debut show in May 2012, The Black Feathers have been touring the country, captivating audiences everywhere with songs of love, life, and death.
They have shared a stage with the likes of Ben Ottewell (Gomez), Luke Concannon (Nizlopi), Jazz Morley, and Isambard Folk Award winners Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker.
They are currently working on their debut 5 track EP, which will be released in early 2013.

The Galleons are a 6 piece Indie-Folk band from Brighton. Their melodic, spell-binding music cuts a dash between traditional folk & modern Indie. Their live shows take the audience from catchy, foot stomping folk-rock to mellow, mysterious lullabies & back.
"One of the UKs most exciting & original new bands, start with folk and then throw in a bit of almost everything else to create beautifully crafted songs, that stick in the mind long after the last chord has rung."
