Kodo Drummers

The taiko: a traditional Japanese drum with limitless rhythmic possibilities. Kodo’s mission is to explore these possibilities, and in the process forge new directions for a vibrant living art-form.

Since the group’s debut at Berliner Festspiele in 1981, Kodo has given over 5,800 performances in 49 countries on five continents, and have been acclaimed for their electrifying athleticism and stunning visuals.

It’s an immensely powerful experience, seeing ancient Japanese culture catapulted into the 21st century by this 26-strong troupe of musicians and dancers.
