A Handful of People

'One must not be frightened of happiness, it is just a beautiful moment which passes’ Romain Gary

At a time when people all over the world gather together spontaneously to rethink society, and thousands are forced to leave their countries and start walking, aren’t we all just looking for a place to live in peace?

Featuring a beautiful miniature set model with in-built surprises and enriched by audio/visual testimonies of those seeking refuge, Vélo Théatre explore the importance of the little things – the tiny sparks. Enter their world and embark on a journey in pursuit of happiness.

Returning to Brighton Festival after audience favourites The Rabbit in the Moon (2009) and The Frog at the Bottom of the Well (2015), the internationally renowned French company Vélo Théatre brings us their latest carefully crafted piece of ‘object theatre’. Touring regularly worldwide, its joy in manipulating objects persists, intact and intense.
