Nahid Siddiqui In Conversation
You are invited to a rare opportunity to hear world renowned Kathak dancer and choreographer Nahid Siddiqui as she shares her life, work and influences. To be followed by a presentation of her new work based on the writings of 17th century Sufi poet Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah, 'Maati' unveils the phenomenon of the earth and explains how life, in its entirety is interrelated to it. 'Ishq' reveals the core of Bulleh Shah's philosophy of divine love.
Siddiqui encapsulates the essence of the Sufi folk spirit of the Punjab, through the subtle nuances of Kathak, in an immersive experience that will empower and transport audiences to another time and space.
Nahid Siddiqui will be accompanied by percussionist and music composer Hassan Mohyeddin.
