Figurines And Two For Tune
Drawing influence from Dervish dance, Figurines is a dance of perpetual movement, constant recreation and of dizziness inspired by ritualistic meditative movement.
The piece accelerates gradually, revolving constantly to create a spiral that gets smaller and smaller until the performer turns on the spot. During the performance the audience are asked to wear earplugs as booming bass emanates from powerful speakers, as Lola seeks to merge your physical and psychological response.
The sound vibrations encourage a trance-like, hyper-real state condition to lead you into an introspective state where the sound of your own body appears intensified.
