A Salute To The 1940s
An afternoon of pure nostalgia will be at St George’s Hall next month, when A Salute to the 1940s comes to Bradford on Tuesday 20 October.
This special commemoration to the artistes who boosted morale during the war years includes the well-loved songs of George Formby, Vera Lynn, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Gracie Fields, Marie Lloyd and Harry Lauder.
This very special variety show will also feature recitals of the poems written by one of the leading poets of the First World War, Wilfred Owen.
Complete with flags, posters and bunting, A Salute to the 1940s will be hosted by air raid warden, Warden Braithwaite.
This memorable afternoon of entertainment will finish in a truly patriotic finale, which will have the audience singing along and waving their flags with pride.
