Muslim Women, Sport And Choice - No Guts, No Heart, No Glory

A unique opportunity to hear from the team behind the award-winning No Guts, No Heart, No Glory. This hard hitting show taking the theatre world by storm smashes stereotypes about young Muslim women and celebrates women in sport.

No Guts book jpgNow published by Oberon Books No Guts, No Heart, No Glory is based on interviews with Muslim female boxers including former National Champion Ambreen Sadiq and former British University Champion Saira Tabasum, both from Bradford. Written by Aisha Zia and directed by Evie Manning, the play was shaped by the collaboration of the cast of 16-22 year old young Bradford-born British Pakistani Muslim women.

Young Muslim women are rarely represented in the media. No Guts, No Heart, No Glory not only allows them to represent themselves but also to dance, to box, to swear, to get angry, to enjoy it, to be champions.

Join playwright Aisha Zia, director Evie Manning and No Guts, No Heart, No Glory cast members for the premiere of a short film about the play, followed by a discussion about Muslim women, sport and choice.
