Join world renowned poets Brian Patten, Lemn Sissay and John Siddique for this very special event as they discuss three powerful and unique poems, that have become synonymous with death, marriage and freedom, with celebrated poet Jo Bell. Patten discusses his poem ‘So Many Different Lengths of Time’ originally written at the death of his friend Adrian Henri and now recited at funerals, Sissay talks about ‘Invisible Kisses’ a favourite at weddings, and John Siddique discusses ‘Thirst’ synonymous with freedom. The poets will discuss the inspiration behind the poems, their worldwide journey and impact.

This event was inspired by Lemn Sissay who, at last year’s Lyrical Mehfil event before performing his poem ‘Invisible Kisses’, explained how the poem had become the preferred reading at weddings and had a life that was now independent of him.
