8000 Metres
Alan Hinkes OBE is the first Briton to climb all of the world's highest mountains. In expeditions spread over more than 15 years, he has climbed all 14 of the 8000 m. peaks in the 'death zone', which are amongst the most dangerous mountains on the planet. Alan is part of an exclusive club of only 12 people alive who have achieved this feat, which is the same number of people who have stood on the moon.
In this talk he will take us through the stories featured in his award winning book '8000 metres' and show us stunning photography from his many expeditions.
This event is a charity fundraising event in aid of the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
