Bournemouth Collegiate School

Bournemouth Collegiate School presents a terrifically fun treatment of Cheri and Bill Steinkellner’s book, with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, which was, in turn, based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg.

It tells the story of ambitious nightclub singer Deloris Van Cartier (Dani Poll), who is forced to take refuge in a convent after she witnesses her sleazy on-off boyfriend Curtis murder one of his gang. Deloris runs to the police and is reunited with Eddie Souther, now a lieutenant with the Philadelphia police, but also once the shy boy at school who was infatuated with Deloris.

Eddie hides Deloris amongst the nuns at the convent, where she soon starts stirring things up, much to the dismay of the Mother Superior. However, the threat of the convent closing is soon a much bigger issue for the Reverend Mother. Can Deloris’ presence help the nuns save their home? Can the convent keep her safe from Curtis and his gang? And will Eddie ever get the girl?

With plenty of comedy and numbers that you won’t be able to stop singing, Sister Act is great night out for all the family.
