Arena Theatre

Back on the road again and this time celebrating the 50th anniversary, Bournemouth based Arena Theatre presents Tom Stoppard’s seminal work. Absurd and existential, funny and plain weird, the play expands upon the exploits of the titular two minor characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

The action takes place mainly ‘in the wings’ of the Bard’s greatest work, with brief appearances of major characters from Hamlet who enact fragments of the original's scenes.

Always willing to explore the more challenging plays, Arena Theatre boasts Sir Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Wolf Hall) and playwright, Jez Butterworth (Jerusalem, The Ferryman, Mojo) as two of their Patrons.
