Brilliant spoken-word artist Mike Garry will launch The Ferret's new performance night on Thursday, October 31 (8pm start).
The Ferret will host regular performance and spoken-word nights on the last Thursday of every month - and with the help of Garry Cook's events organisation EnjoyShow.co.uk they have pulled off a major coup in persuading poet Mike Garry to perform.
The poet is a perfect fit for the Preston live music venue after having his own hit single in 2015.
His St Anthony: An Ode to Anthony H Wilson, dedicated to Factory Records boss Tony Wilson and put to classical music by the composer Joe Duddell, went to Number 1 in three Official UK charts in August 2015.
The poem's music was inspired by the New Order track Your Silent Face. The band were signed to Wilson's Factory Record label. The video featured a stunning cast including Steve Coogan, John Cooper Clarke, Iggy Pop, Shaun Ryder and members of New Order.
