Disney Fantasia - Live in Concert: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO)

Following a series of hugely successfully and popular performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Apollo Digital Entertainment by arrangement with the Royal Albert Hall is proud to announce Disney Fantasia: Live in Concert with live underscore by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will play 3 exclusive tour dates at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow on 27th December 2013, Phones4u Arena in Manchester on 28th December 2013 and the NIA Arena in Birmingham on 29th December 2013

Described as "a magical treat for the eyes and the ears", Disney shares one of its crown jewels of feature animation showcasing selections from Walt Disney's original Fantasia and Disney's Fantasia 2000. There will be a selection of the magnificent repertoire from both films; including Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite and, performed and screened simultaneously for the first time in the UK, Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours, the great ballet of hippos, elephants, ostriches, and alligators.

Other iconic moments from Disney’s stunning footage, such as Mickey Mouse as he dabbles in magic in Dukas' The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and the mythical unicorns and winged horses that accompany Beethoven’s 'Pastoral' Symphony, will also be shown in high definition on the big screen.

With live underscore by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki, don’t miss the chance to relive this timeless classic in a unique cinematic experience – the PERFECT Christmas treat for all the family!

This event takes place at Arena Birmingham, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
