The most successful of the second-generation reggae bands, Black Uhuru (Swahili for 'freedom'), have maintained their high quality despite numerous personnel changes in their 40-plus-year history.

The first reggae band to win a Grammy award in 1983, Black Uhuru
was, according to Reggae: The Rough Guide, "The most dynamic and progressive reggae act of the 1970s and early '80s."

For their debut concert at The Drum, Duckie Simpson, Andrew Bees, and Kay Starr are joined by stellar musicians and feature the Reggae Ambassador and "High Priest Of Reggae" IQulah Rastafari.

This will be a spectacular roots and culture occasion – an uplifting spiritual
vibration in the heart of the nation!
