Sugarskull Workshop

Members of the Mexican Community in the Midlands are running this activity to share the tradition with you. See the altar that will be set up at Martineau Gardens keeping one of Mexico’s most ancient traditions alive here in the Heart of England. Join in and decorate a sugar skull, you can eat them or place them on the altar as a decoration.

Death is part of the circle of life and should not be feared, the Day of the Dead is a Mexican Tradition where ancestors are remembered with joy and an altar is placed with their favourite food, drinks and perhaps a couple of items that represent the activities they enjoyed in life, decorated in bright colours and other meaningful items, altars are a truly unique spectacle.

Places are limited to six children per session. Choose one of four identical sessions.
