Upfront Comedy
Upfront Comedy - "the most enterprising black comedy promoter in the country," reckons The Guardian - was set up in 1992 by comedian John Simmit, best known for playing Dipsy in BBC TV's international phenomenon Teletubbies.
Since then Upfront has produced regular comedy series in all the UK's major cities, and programmed Club Class, a 13 part series for Channel 5, giving the first UK dates and TV exposure to some of today's biggest international comedians such as Russell Peters, JB Smoove and the late Patrice O'Neal.
