Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
A brilliant band led by vocalist, actor, composer and activist Cleveland Watkiss, featuring an all star line-up including Orphy Robinson (vibes), Jason Yarde (saxophone), Neil Charles (bass) and Mark Sanders (drums).
Their music has been described as 'a sonic blend coming from the world's most cosmopolitan epicentre: the UK' and an ' insane, authentic, blatantly truthful commentary on our times' (Jazzpress).
Cleveland Watkiss was one of the co-founders of the vastly influential Jazz Warriors big band and went on to be voted best vocalist for three consecutive years at the Wire/Guardian Jazz Awards.
His amazing vocal experiences have seen him perform with many diverse artists from around the world including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, the James Taylor Quartet, Sly & Robbie, Stevie Wonder, Joe Cocker, The Who, Branford Marsalis, Julian Joseph, Courtney Pine, Soul II Soul, the London Chamber Orchestra, Goldie, Cassandra Wilson, Bjork, the London Community Gospel Choir and many many more.
