Schubert and Mendelssohn

They called Schubert “the romantic Classic” and Mendelssohn “the classical Romantic”, and if that sounds confusing don’t worry because all you need to know is that they’re both delightful! Mendelssohn himself conducted here at Birmingham Town Hall, so tonight we’re bringing him home. Colourful overtures and sweet songs for our superb Youth Chorus jostle with Schubert’s pocket-sized symphonies in a concert to light up a summer evening.
