A Christmas Carol
In December 1853 Dickens chose A Christmas Carol for his first ever public reading in Town Hall, where ‘notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, nearly 2,000 persons had assembled.’
In celebration of Dickens’ bicentennial, Clive Francis recreates the occasion, bringing to life his most famous characters. The first half features a delightful introduction by Francis who will explain more about that first reading at Town Hall and Dickens’ exploits in Birmingham.
