Me And My Cat?

A new adaptation of a book by multi-award winning Japanese writer and illustrator Satoshi Kitamura.

One morning the phone rings at the Amazing Kitamura Detective Agency. Detective K answers. It is a boy called Nicholas, but on the screen, we see a picture of a cat. Detective K is confused. Nicholas is confused. He needs help fast! Detective K starts on a fast paced, mad-cap action-packed journey as she tries to solve the mysterious case of the boy in the cat and the cat in the boy.

Using projection, bags of ingenuity, a hefty dollop of fun and featuring the voice of celebrated poet Roger McGough, Detective K’s exciting and hilarious adventure is great entertainment for the whole family.

Me And My Cat? is a one woman show performed by Kumiko Mendl and adapted and directed for stage by Vicky Ireland. Design is by Nicolai Hart-Hanson with music and animation by Julian Butler. It is produced by A Thousand Cranes in association with artsdepot, and is supported by funding from Arts Council England and The Japan Society.
